U14 Player Development Programme

Following the success experienced by both players and coaches who took part in our alternative under 14 player development programme introduced in 2020, we would love to welcome a large pool of players to make the most of this opportunity again in 2022.

Please note:
To attend our U14 Player Development Programme you must be at college (not Year 8) and 13 years of age or younger on 1 January 2022.

This alternative player development programme replaces our representative programme for this age group.  It has been designed to benefit a wider pool of players and coaches than our previous representative programme where trials were held with selection limited to a max of two teams (24 players total) and max two coaches per team (4 coaches total). Broadening inclusion means we now welcome upwards of 70 players assisted by at least 8 coaches plus helpful managers.

Trials have since been removed for this age group. Instead, we encourage all players of any gender who meet the age requirement stated in bold above, to put their name forward to benefit from this fun and engaging opportunity with the aim to grow your on-court confidence and game knowledge.  Everyone takes part, no one gets turned away.

The programme includes 6 weeks of development sessions, and incorporates up to three opportunities for game play.

For the first 2 weeks players may work on skills and tactics in preparation for a Centre Game Day where players will be placed into evenly matched teams.  Following the Centre Game Day players may then be graded into tiered age group teams and complete a further 2 weeks of development as part of a designated team in preparation for final game day held in September.  Attendees are encouraged to attend all 7 dates to gain maximum benefit from this experience.

Transport costs to/from Kapiti and Hutt Valley will be user pays.  Carpooling may be arranged.

We welcome all keen netballers to get involved and look forward to developing you further!
