Coach Developers - what do they do?

Netball Centres are always on the look out for passionate people to help support and develop coaches!

If this sounds like you - you may already be a Coach Developer without realising it...

Who would be a good Coach Developer?

    • Anyone who is passionate about growing the sport of Netball and supporting Coaches and is willing to provide some of their time to help make it happen!
    • Coaches who are engaged in the learning journey and are looking for ways to stretch themselves to grow

What could a Coach Developer do within our Centre?

    • Help organise and/or facilitate informal or formal workshops or get togethers for the Coaches
    • Provide 1:1 support / mentoring to Coaches- Lead a community of support in their club or school, that connects throughout the season
    • Encourage a culture of learning and development
    • Observe coaches and give feedback
    • Support coaches on their learning journey and help connect them with developmentopportunities
    • Create quality learning and support experiences for coaches that positively impacts their involvement in the game

    How might this benefit you?

    • Add new skills to your toolkit or to enhance skills you already have that will not only benefit you as a coach developer but in your personal and professional life
    • Opportunities for ongoing personal and professional development
    • Connection with communities of like minded people
    • See more coaches impacted positively, more often which has a positive impact on them personally and a flow on effect to players

    Who's a good fit?

Training is ideally suited to any staff or volunteers who are operating in a capacity where they’re either delivery learning and development (L&D) or supporting coaches in trainings and/or games.  Some examples are those:

    • delivering and supporting futureFERNS
    • delivering learning & development to and supporting community coaches of all levels
    • delivering learning & development to and supporting umpire coaches

    What support will you get?

    • Ongoing support from your Centre and the Zone
    • Personal development opportunities
    • A network of support with Coach Developers from other clubs / schools, Centres and Zones
