 Venue Hire - Hataitai Pavilion & Courts

Please note: Hataitai courts and pavilion will be unavailable for hire from Monday 4 October 2021 as the Council is upgrading the facilities.  This work is expected to extend to March 2022.  If seeking assistance finding an alternative nearby we recommend approaching Axmen Wellington Football Club at bookings@wfc.org.nz.

Looking for a place to hire for an upcoming event? Then check out the Netball Wellington Centre Pavilion!

We offer one large room that seats up to 150 people (200 standing) plus 2 smaller meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 20 people each.  Smaller rooms are able to be used for smaller gatherings, board/committee meetings, workshops or as break-out rooms.

Excellent off-street parking at no charge, close to the city and available for daytime meetings or evening functions. Smaller rooms by arrangement.

Pavilion Hire

Pavilion hire can include the following facilities and equipment:

  • Toilets (6 x female toilets, 1 x mens/disability-friendly toilet)
  • Showers (2 x shower cubicles)
  • Water cooler
  • 2 smaller meeting rooms suitable for up to 20 people each.
  • Large whiteboard (2m x 1m) on wheels, tripod whiteboard (A1 size) 
  • Data projector and screen available for hire upon request.
  • Kitchen with large-sized oven & hobs, 2x hot water jugs, microwave, fridge, freezer, pots and crockery, sandwich press & pie warmer (upon request)
  • Upstairs seating area and viewing terrace
  • Use of 6 x trestle tables, 2 large round tables (seats up to 8), 3 small round tables (seats up to 5) with 60 x chairs & 6 x 3-seater couches with 2 x coffee tables.  Additional chairs may be sourced/hired upon request.
  • Control Room including use of microphone, timer & hooter
  • Use of four-burner gas barbecue grill on wheels (gas cylinder not provided)
  • Clean-up afterwards and leave the venue exactly as you found it ie
    • Remove all rubbish and leave it by the outside bins
    • Wipe down all surfaces used
    • Wash and dry any dishes/cutlery used
    • Vacuum the floors

Things to note

  • We do not have a liquor license therefore if you wish to sell alcohol on the premises as part of your event, you will need to get one through the Wellington City Council individually andmust have a licensed bar manager on site.
  • Access is restricted after 10pm, as bollards go up on the roadway leading up to the sports grounds.  Cars hoping to gain access into or out of the area after this time will need to ring the Council via the number provided on signage at the entrance and will be asked to provide vehicle details over the phone prior to being granted access.
  • Maximum capacity of 150 seated/200 standing.
  • For evening events, if security personnel there will be a cost of $65 + gst per hour incurred as indicated in the pricings provided above.

Court Hire

Netball Wellington Centre adminster bookings for Court 1 only during the netball season (May to August).

Wellington City Council adminster bookings for all other courts throughout the year plus Court 1 outside the netball season (September to April). ContactWellington City Council (WCC) - Parks Customer Services Officer via phone 04 499 4444 or complete online request here.

Please note: Monday night court availability between September and March will be dependant on Twilight Competition court usage.  During these months the Council set-up tennis nets therefore any court hire enquiries (other than Courts 1 & 2) need to be directed to the Wellington City Council
