    Year 6 Comp (7v7 head-start)

We introduced a Year 6 Comp in Term 4 with the specific purpose to help young players moving from the 6-a-side game into the 7-a-side game. While initially up and running in 2022, we took a break in 2023 yet successfully returned with a six-team competition in 2024.

Our Year 6 Comp aims to provide a 7v7 head start, introducing the transition from six to seven positions on the court.
Year 5&6 play 6-a-side netball with Cs, Ds and As.
Year 7 play 7-a-side netball played featuring seven less-familiar positions made up of GK, GD, WD, C, WA, GA and GS.

This is an opportunity for young players to enjoy netball in the off-season yet give a different game format a go and familiarise themselves with each position before next season begins.  Also a good way to guide players and coaches into the 7v7 differences and further helps ease uncertainty prior to trial time.

    Games are 39 minute duration - 4x8 minute quarters, 2min, 3min, 2min breaks with 11mins between games .
Game times are 4.00pm and 4.50pm.
Mixed, all-female and all-male teams welcome.
Players don't necessarily need to be Year 6 to take part yet should be moving into the 7-a-side game in 2026 so as not to cause unnecessary confusion.

2025 TERM 4 (SPRING) for young players progressing into playing 7-a-side in 2026
