Sport Development Coordinator - Netball Fiji (closes 17 Mar 2025)


If you are interested in promoting the growth and development of officials, athletes, teams, and pathways in netball then we have a role for you as our Sport Development Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

  • Program Development: Developing and implementing sports programs that align with the goals and objectives of the Netball Fiji. This may involve conducting research, identifying target audiences, and designing appropriate initiatives.
  • Event Organization: Planning and coordinating sports events, from local tournaments to international competitions. This may involve managing logistics, securing sponsorships, and ensuring a seamless experience for participants and spectators.
  • Community Engagement: Building relationships with community partners, schools, and local organizations to promote sports participation and engage the wider community.
  • Support Talent Identification Program: Identifying and nurturing talented athletes at various levels, from grassroots to elite. This may involve scouting, talent identification camps, and talent development programs.

Qualifications, experience and skills required

  • Have a passion for Netball
  • Degree in Sport Development/ Physical Education, or related field or equivalent. Qualifications/ Licenses such as Coaching and Umpiring are an added advantage. 
  • Knowledge of grassroots netball and development in and around Fiji
  • Knowledge of Sports Management: A strong understanding of sports management principles, including development pathways, event management, and program planning.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with athletes, technical officials, coaches, stakeholders, and the wider community. Strong leadership abilities are also crucial to inspire and motivate others.
  • Organizational Skills: The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Networking and Relationship Building: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sports organizations, sponsors, and community partners, to leverage resources and support for sports development initiatives.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: The capacity to analyze complex situations, identify challenges, and make informed decisions to overcome obstacles and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft packages
  • Must hold a current driver’s license.

The role will be based in Suva at the NETBALL FIJI Office. Some domestic and international travel is expected.

RemunerationThis is a full-time position for a term of 3 years.

Salary Range: AUD$23k to AUD$25k per annum
