Are you passionate about physical activity and your community?
Then we’d love you to consider joining our Board of Trustees.
Nuku Ora is a charitable trust, and our vision is for everyone to be active, healthy, and happy. We understand that access to physical activity is not equitable and are advocating for this to change so everyone can access quality physical activities of their choice whether that’s through play, active recreation, sport or active transport.
Due to retirement and reaching maximum term limits, there are three board vacancies this year. Board Chair, Chair of the Audit and Risk subcommittee and a Board member position.
Our strategic outcomes are:
Purpose
Transforming lives in the Wellington region.
12 Year Outcome
Improved wellbeing of our community through physical activity
4 Year Strategic Priorities 2020 - 2024
The Board of Trustees aim to exemplify good governance practices and promote board diversity as a key contributor to effective leadership. Previous Chair experience, and accounting background for the Audit & Risk position are essential. To ensure we have a balanced and diverse Board we encourage applications from all communities. Nuku Ora is committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi across our organisation and the work we do. Knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in learning, te reo Māori me ōna Tikanga will therefore be an advantage.
These positions are voluntary positions with the board meeting every 8 weeks for approximately 2 hours. Other commitments outside of board meetings may include participating in Board sub-committees, attending functions as a Nuku Ora Board representative. The new trustees will be officially appointed at the 2023 Annual General Meeting date TBC.
