    About the role:

    Due to the departure of a valued team member, we have the exciting opportunity for a Games Management System (GMS) Operator to join our team based in Lower Hutt. 

    As a GMS Operator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising our Games Management System to support the development and execution of Special Olympics events. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including Regional Sports Coordinators and Club Event Managers, to ensure smooth and efficient event operations.

     

    Your responsibilities include:

    • Develop and manage sports programming for Special Olympics club and school events.
    • Oversee GMS requirements and ensure efficient use of the platform.
    • Stay updated on GMS upgrades and Special Olympics sports.
    • Lead data entry and present participation data to staff.
    • Conduct the annual Special Olympics International census for SONZ.
    • Assist with registration processes and provide GMS training and support.
    • Create and maintain user-friendly GMS manuals and guides.
    • Review and improve processes for efficiency.

    As the successful candidate, you will have:

    • Strong IT, data management, and Excel skills.
    • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Capable of working independently and in a national team.
    • Understanding of the sports sector, and volunteering experience preferred.
    • Passion for excellence and integrity.  
    • Customer service focus and problem-solving ability.
