If you are a seasoned Maps and Drawings professional interested in a once-in-a-lifetime job in the sports industry, this is your chance. We are looking for someone to lead and strengthen the team in charge of organising the biggest women's sporting event in the world: the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia New Zealand 2023™.

To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a local events team. Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women's World Cup™, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.

Maps and Drawings (CAD) Draftsperson - New Zealand

Job responsibilities

As Maps and Drawings (CAD) Draftsperson, reporting to the Technical Services and Overlay Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and administration of technical design processes and practices for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.

Under the guidance of the Technical Services and Overlay Senior Manager you will manage the production of technical maps and drawings for FWWC2023 New Zealand including overlay infrastructure drawings and will lead the production and timely release of FWWC2023 drawing publications for all stakeholders.

Job Duties

Your role as Maps and Drawings (CAD) Draftsperson includes the following responsibilities:

Drawing Production

  • Drafting, producing and managing technical, detailed and graphical maps & drawings for the FWWC2023 New Zealand. Core tournament drawings will focus on space & area allocation and the visualisation of operational planning.
  • Drafting, producing and managing technical overlay infrastructure drawings for the purpose of venue infrastructure and installation planning at official tournament venues.
  • Gradually take lead responsibility for the production and timely release of FWWC2023 drawing publications for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that very high standards of quality, accuracy and consistency are always maintained.

Project Management and Co-ordination

  • Work in collaboration with your Australia counterpart
  • Work with FIFA Maps & Drawings managers as requested, to develop FIFA's cross-tournament approach to maps & drawings, and tournament operational planning globally.
  • Clearly document and communicate the scope of responsibility (and limits of scope, exclusions etc.), roles and responsibilities, and maps & drawing outputs to be produced for all FWWC2023 stakeholders.
  • Collect and coordinate information from FIFA/FWWC2023 Functional Areas, internal and external stakeholders and clients.
  • Administrate the BIM360 drawing platform on behalf of the FWWC2023 PTY LTD in New Zealand.

Venue Planning and Visualisation

  • Develop and produce venue planning and space visualisation tools and resources, under the direction of FIFA infrastructure colleagues, and/or exploiting innovative industry tools and practices.
  • Facilitate venue management colleagues in the process of venue infrastructure and operational planning, as a key member of the venue planning team.

Quality Control

  • Continuous engagement with and monitoring the performance of external stakeholders with regards to timely acquisition of raw data, according to standards and formats required.
  • Ensuring a consistent quality standard, set-up and structure across all drawings produced, by implementing clear and defined quality assurance and quality control procedures.

  • Ensuring that Maps & Drawings are up to date, stored and correctly distributed in the relevant format at all times.

 

Qualifications & experience

You will be e qualified construction draftsman or architectural technician with a minimum of 4 years' experience in generating technical and architectural drawings, and graphical maps. Experience of producing operational drawings for major sporting events will be an added bonus. Ideally you will have a Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or construction with work experience with design and planning tools, vector graphics editing

    • AutoCAD
    • Adobe Creative Cloud (as asset)
    • Revit (as asset)

Experience in site planning and events preferred.

Skills

This position requires a person with excellent organisation, time-management and administrative skills along with strong attention to detail. You must be skilled in MS Office (Excel, Work, PPT) and have experience with online collaboration tools.
